Since February 2020, fencing activities in Australia and around the world have been affected by the Coroanavirus COVID-19 pandemic. Information is provided here to assist member states, clubs, coaches and fencers understand restrictions around fencing activities. News updates and links to resources will be added from time-to-time.
Returning to sport
Member states, clubs and coaches must be guided by their State or Territory announcements on returning to sport.

Framework for rebooting sport in a COVID19 environment
The national framework for resuming sport was published by the Australian Institute of Sport in May 2020 and has been adopted by the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) and National Cabinet as the guide for the reintroduction of sport and recreation. The framework recommends sporting activities to be resumed under Levels A, B, C of restrictions. Refer to Appendix A for details of fencing activities permitted under each level.
Sport Australia toolkit for resuming sport
The Toolkit builds on the AIS Framework for Rebooting of Sport and the Australian Government’s National principles for the resumption of sport and recreation activities and includes templates and step-by-step checklists for organisations to follow.
COVIDSafe Sport Coaches and Officials Certification
The Certification Program is free and has been developed and administered by the Australian Coaching Council. The on-line program will take about 30 minutes to complete.
