Aleksandra Shelton commits to Australian Sabre Program through LA 2028

The Australian Fencing Federation (AFF) is proud to announce that Aleksandra Shelton has signed a contract extension to continue as Head Sabre Coach through the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

This extension reflects a strong vote of confidence in Shelton’s leadership and the direction of the national sabre program. Under her guidance, the program has strengthened its high-performance foundations, sharpened its international focus, and accelerated the development of emerging Australian talent.

“This is an exciting time for Australian sabre,” Shelton said. “We’ve built a strong base, and this commitment through LA 2028 allows us to think boldly, plan strategically, and keep raising the standard for our athletes on the world stage.”

AFF President Sam Auty said the decision recognises Shelton’s impact across both performance and culture.

“Aleksandra brings world-class expertise, clarity of vision, and a relentless commitment to excellence,” Auty said. “Her leadership is central to our ambition for sustained success throughout the LA Olympic cycle and beyond.”

The contract extension provides long-term stability and continued momentum as AFF invests in elite performance, innovation, and pathways that support athletes from grassroots through to the Olympic arena.
