Para Fencing Showcase at AFC#4 – Sydney, 18–19 April

The Australian Fencing Federation is excited to announce a Para Fencing Showcase taking place alongside AFC#4 in Sydney on 18–19 April 2026. This special event forms part of our ongoing commitment to supporting and growing para fencing opportunities across Australia.
Hosted at the Galuwa Recreation Centre (180 River Road, Lane Cove, NSW Australia), the showcase will offer athletes, coaches, referees, and spectators a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the sport and celebrate the skill and dedication of our para fencing community.

Competition Registration

Whether you’re an experienced para fencer or new to the community, AFC#4 provides a welcoming environment to compete, connect, and demonstrate what para-athletes bring to the piste.

Para fencers wishing to participate in the showcase must:

• Register via JustFence
• Hold a valid State fencing membership

The competition will include mixed gender pools with separate gender Direct Elimination bouts. The event does not require classification in order to compete.

The equipment requirements for the competition are:

• 350N whites
• standard blade
• FIE underplastron

Referee Education Opportunity

Running concurrently with the showcase is a Para Fencing Referee Seminar, offering referees the chance to expand their qualifications and gain hands-on experience in an official para setting. This seminar is ideal for referees looking to broaden their skillset and contribute to the growth of para competition pathways in Australia. An expression of interest form will be added to the competition page and sent to all accredited referees shortly.
