AFF President resigns

Ms Evelyn Halls has resigned as a Director of the Australian Fencing Federation and Vice-President Dr Frank Walsh has been appointed by the Board to the position of President, effective immediately.

A dual Olympian who’s fenced from the age of 10, Evelyn’s love of the sport fuelled a remarkable term as Director and later as President of our organisation.

Her contributions included a focus on robust governance and improved communications, promoting grass roots development, expanding funding sources and a relentless pursuit of excellence at the elite level.

Evelyn’s efforts as an intelligent and shrewd ambassador for Australian fencing have forged stronger, more strategic partnerships with other sporting bodies which will benefit the AFF for years to come.

The Board calls on the Australian Fencing Community to join us in thanking Evelyn for her contribution.
