Rianne Leung heading to Youth Olympic Games
The Australian Fencing Federation (AFF) is proud to announce that the Australian Olympic Committee has ratified the selection of Rianne Leung onto the Australian Team for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG).
The games will be held in Dakar in Senegal from 31 October – 13 November, and Australia was given one quota allocation which in line with the YOG Selection Policy fell to Leung.
Leung is currently the number one ranked Cadet Foil fencer in the world, and she is exciting to be heading over to Africa to represent Australia on the big stage.
“I am so incredibly excited to be heading over to Senegal to represent Australia at the Youth Olympic Games,” Leung said.
“I have worked so hard and it has been an incredible year fencing all over the world, and now I am excited to be able to represent my country and our sport on one of the biggest stages of all.
“I still have to pinch myself because it will be such an amazing experience, and I feel humbled and honoured and will hopefully do everyone here proud.”
