National Epee Coach appointment

The Australian Fencing Federation is excited to announce the appointment of a new National Epee Coach, Oleksii Tyshko.

Oleksii is from Kharkiv in the Ukraine, and has a wealth of experience including over 21 years of competitive fencing experience representing both the Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

As a coach, Oleksii has spent time working with athletes at all levels – including with national teams in China, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia.

He comes from a long line of fencers in his family which includes his father Mykhailo Tyshko who won a bronze medal with the Soviet Union in the Men’s Team Epée event at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea.

Oleksii has been residing in Munich and plans are under way for his move to Australia to take up the position.

He will commence in the role on 1 March 2026, and is very much looking forward to getting started with entire Australian Epee community.
