
Opportunity to become an IOC Safeguarding Officer
The AFF is pleased to support an opportunity from the Oceania Fencing Confederation and the FIE for individuals to be supported in completing the IOC Safeguarding Certificate. This is an incredible opportunity for an individual to be selected by the OFC to complete the IOC Certificate of Safeguarding Officer in Sport with their IOC tuition fees paid for by the FIE.
IOC Safeguarding Officers in Sport play an important role in attending FIE competitions and playing a crucial role in the prevention of and response to harassment and abuse including significant contributions to the prioritisation of athlete well-being and safeguarding within their organisation and at major sporting events.
The IOC Certificate: Safeguarding Officer in Sport is awarded by the International Olympic Committee.
• Lectures will consist of computer-based presentations with audio and video, and will incorporate self-assessment and interactive elements where appropriate.
• Students will be invited to attend a monthly zoom call with their fellow students, Program Directors and AAB members.
If you are interested in completing this certificate and becoming an IOC Safeguarding Officer please complete the application form below by 5pm Sunday 25 May. The AFF will provide applications to the OFC for their final selection of candidates for the certificate.
