Certifications in Onepoint
The new AFF system, Onepoint uses 'Certifications' to allow members to upload relevant documents, and to provide members access to some services. There are 2 groups of Certifications, please see below for information about what each certification is for.
Member initiated Certifications
Citizenship/Permanent Resident Document
This certification is used to provide evidence of a members eligibility to represent Australia at an international level. There is 2 groups of members which this is relevant for:
- For Australian citizens, determines eligibility to be selected to represent Australia at FIE level events
- For Australian Permanent Resident Visa holders, determines eligibility to be selected to represent Australia at some international events (Not FIE events)
Community Coaching General Principles
Coaches can provide evidence they have completed the Australian Sports commission Community coaching Essential Skills course. This is one of the mandatory requirements for a coach, and must be renewed each 4 years.
First Aid Certificate
Coaches can provide evidence they have completed the HLTAID011 first aid course. As this course is a combination of the HLTAID009 and HLTAID010 courses, a coach can provide their certificate for both of these they will be marked off as having completed the HLTAID011 course. This course needs to be refreshed each 3 years.
Personal information verification document
This certification is used to provide evidence of a members Date of Birth. It is primarily for fencers who are under the age of 20. It can be any of the following documents:
- Members passport, Australia or international, current or expired
- Members birth certificate, (in English), Australian or international
- Australian Visa
- any official document which has the members name and date of birth
Report Coaching Locations
This certification is for Coaches to report where they are providing coaching. This is a requirement of the AFF insurance. All coaches need to provide this information.
Working with Children Clearance
This is for members to provide evidence they have a current Working with Children clearance. This is known as different names in each state, however it is required to be provided by all Coaches, Referees, and other officials undertaking work for the AFF.
Member initiated certifications require verification by the AFF before they are accepted. If they have not been verified with 72 hours of being uploaded. Please contact operations@fencing.org.au. (Verified certifications have green dots on the right).
Automatically Assigned Certifications
ZA-International-Licence
This certifications indicates an International Licences you have applied for or had purchased for yourself. It shows licences for the International Fencing Federation (FIE), European Fencing Confederation (EFC) and the Fencing Confederation of Asia (FCA). It also shows only those licences for the previous and current seasons. You will have one of these certifications per International Licence you have.
ZA-National-Squad-Member
This certifications indicates you are a current member of the National Squad. This will provide you access to some services from the AFF which are restricted to National Squad Members only.
ZY-Restricted
This certifications indicates you have been marked as have restricted services from the AFF. This can be for various reasons, however the majority will be as you have long term outstanding debt with the AFF. If you have this certification you are not eligible for various services from the AFF, including, but not limited to:
- entry to national tournaments
- selection of international events

ZZ-FIE-Licence-Eligible
This certifications indicates you are eligible to request an FIE international Licence. This is required if you whish to represent Australia at an FIE international event, It is important to understand only citizens of Australia are able to represent Australia at FIE level events.
If this has not been assigned to you, and you believe it should have been, this could be due to one or more of the following reasons:
- You do not have an appropriate level membership with your home state.
- You are currently marked with having outstanding debts with the AFF
- You have not uploaded documentation demonstrating your eligibility represent Australia
- You are under 13 years of age. The FIE require a minimum age of 13 before you can purchase a license.
Please note, ZZ-EFC-License-Eligible does not mean you have an EFC License, only you are able to request one.
ZZ-EFC-Licence-Eligible
This certifications indicates you are eligible to request an EFC international Licence. This is required if you whish to represent Australia at an EFC international event, It is important to understand only citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia are able to represent Australia at EFC level events.
If this has not been assigned to you, and you believe it should have been, this could be due to one or more of the following reasons:
- You do not have an appropriate level membership with your home state.
- You are currently marked with having outstanding debts with the AFF
- You have not uploaded documentation demonstrating your eligibility represent Australia
Please note, ZZ-EFC-Licence-Eligible does not mean you have an EFC Licence, only you are able to request one.
ZZ-FCA-Licence-Eligible
This certifications indicates you are eligible to request an FCA international Licence. This is required if you wish to represent Australia at an FCA international event.
If this has not been assigned to you this could be due to one or more of the following reasons:
- You do not have an appropriate level membership with your home state.
- You are currently marked with having outstanding debts with the AFF
Please note, ZZ-FCA-Licence-Eligible does not mean you have an FCA Licence, only you are able to request one.
ZZ-Schools-Events
This certifications indicates you are eligible to enter AFF Schools events. If this has not been assigned to you, this could be due to one or more of the following reasons:
- You do not have an appropriate level membership with your home state.
- You are currently marked with having outstanding debts with the AFF
- You are older than 18 years of age as of the end of the year
- You are under 12 years of age as of the day of the tournament
ZZ-Cadet-Events
This certifications indicates you are eligible to enter AFF Cadet level events. If this has not been assigned to you, this could be due to one or more of the following reasons:
- You do not have an appropriate level membership with your home state.
- You are currently marked with having outstanding debts with the AFF
- You are older than 17 years of age as of the end of the year
- You are under 13 years of age as of the day of the tournament
ZZ-Junior-Events
This certifications indicates you are eligible to enter AFF Junior level events. If this has not been assigned to you, this could be due to one or more of the following reasons:
- You do not have an appropriate level membership with your home state.
- You are currently marked with having outstanding debts with the AFF
- You are older than 20 years of age as of the end of the year
- You are under 12 years of age as of the day of the tournament
ZZ-Senior-Events
This certifications indicates you are eligible to enter AFF Senior level events. If this has not been assigned to you, this could be due to one or more of the following reasons:
- You do not have an appropriate level membership with your home state.
- You are currently marked with having outstanding debts with the AFF
- You are under 13 years of age as of the day of the tournament
ZZ-Veteran-Events
This certifications indicates you are eligible to enter AFF Veteran level events. If this has not been assigned to you, this could be due to one or more of the following reasons:
- You do not have an appropriate level membership with your home state.
- You are currently marked with having outstanding debts with the AFF
- You are under 40 years of age as of the last day of the tournament year
ZZ-Youth-Events
This certifications indicates you are eligible to enter AFF Youth level events. If this has not been assigned to you, this could be due to one or more of the following reasons:
- You do not have an appropriate level membership with your home state.
- You are currently marked with having outstanding debts with the AFF
- You are older than 15 years of age as of the end of the year
- You are under 10 years of age as of the day of the tournament
