Independent Committee Members Positions

The Australian Fencing Federation (AFF) is the governing body responsible for providing the community with the opportunity to play fencing from junior levels through to elite competition. Our Strategic Plan for 2025 to 2028 enshrines our commitment to ensuring that as the governing body for fencing in Australia, we enshrine best practice governance in our committees and procedures.

Our purpose is to advance the sport of fencing by fostering participation and growing a diverse and supportive community. We support individuals to thrive and engage with fencing throughout their whole life.

Our aspirations are to be a globally recognised leader in the Olympic sport of fencing. We will create an accessible community that values diversity to encourage passion for our sport and build lifelong connections through fencing.

Our key priorities are:

  • Fencing for Everyone: Promoting inclusivity, diversity, and lifelong participation in fencing.
  • Excellence in Governance and Safe Sport: Upholding integrity and best practices in governance while prioritising safety for all participants.
  • Growth through Development and Innovation: Enhancing performance, participation, and sustainability with innovative approaches.
  • Connection to Community and Country: Strengthening the Australian Fencing Federation’s connection, and contribution, to society and the environment.

The AFF Committees

The AFF is led by a skills-based board of elected and appointed directors, who oversee and provide strategic leadership to our organisation sub-committees. In line with our Strategic Plan we are currently recruiting committee members for our:
