What is the Community Coaching Essential Skills Credential?

The Community Coaching Essential Skills Credential confirms that a coach has successfully completed the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) Community Coaching Essential Skills course.

This course is a mandatory requirement for AFF coaching accreditation and provides coaches with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to effectively and safely coach participants in a community sport environment.

The Community Coaching Essential Skills course equips coaches with core coaching knowledge, including:

How to Complete the Course

The course is available through the Australian Sports Commission's coaching education platform.

  1. Visit the Australian Sports Commission Community Coaching Education page.
  2. Access the Community Coaching Essential Skills course.
  3. Complete all required learning modules.
  4. Download your completion certificate or training record.

How to Upload Evidence in JustFence

After completing the course:

  1. Download your completion certificate.
  2. Log in to JustFence.
  3. Navigate to ProfileCredentials.
  4. Select Add Credential.
  5. Choose ASC - Community Coaching Essential Skills.
  6. Upload your certificate.
  7. Save your submission for verification.

Verification Process

Once your certificate has been uploaded, the AFF will review and verify the qualification. After verification, the credential will be recorded against your profile and may be used to support coaching accreditation eligibility.

Before You Submit

Please ensure that:

  • You have completed the Community Coaching Essential Skills course.
  • Your certificate clearly shows your name and completion date.
  • The name on the certificate matches your JustFence profile.
  • You upload the most recent version of your certificate.
  • The course completion is less than four years old.

Maintaining a current Community Coaching Essential Skills Credential helps ensure that AFF coaches meet nationally recognised coaching standards and are equipped to provide safe, effective, and positive coaching experiences for participants.
