Parent or guardian name Parent or guardian phone number By applying for membership of the Australian National Squad and paying a nomination fee to the AFF, I agree to abide by the terms of this Agreement if I am accepted into the National Squad by the Australian Fencing Federation [AFF]. This Agreement will take effect for the period identified in the Agreement. If I fail to comply with or breach any term of this Agreement I agree that the AFF may impose such disciplinary measures or penalties on me as it deems appropriate and that such measures may include and suspension or removal from the National Squad. Fencer's financial and other commitments In consideration of the AFF accepting me into the National Squad I agree to:1. Ensure that I am an Australian citizen at all times during the term of this Agreement.2. Ensure that my capitation to the AFF through my State Association remains current.3. Be bound by this Agreement and terms within.4. Participate in the Initial Planning Process sessions arranged for me by the HPC following my selection as a National Squad Member, through which a High Performance Program Plan (HPPP) will be developed to support my fencing.5. I understand that I am ultimately responsible for my own performance and will work together with the HPC, the National Technical Director and the broader National Coaching Team to maximize my ability to gain benefit from the High Performance Program and optimize my performance.6. I will undertake best endeavours to meet the Expectations (Section 3) that are set out in the High Performance Program Outline attachment, and any subsequent version thereof.7. Though understanding the goals set-out therein are not binding on me, I will still undertake my best endeavours to perform the High Performance Program Plan agreed by me, including the individual training sessions, any supplementary training, any HPP training camps and HPP international training and/or HPC Designated Event Tours as set out in the High Performance Program Outline and agreed to by me in the Initial Planning Sessions, and as amended from time to time.8. As National Squad Member (Adult), I will attend at least one State Squad session per week when held, unless approval has been granted by the High Performance Commission.9. As National Squad Member (Adult), I will attend at least the following HPC Camps: the camps held in my own city of residence, the National Camp in Canberra, and at least one camp held in another city, unless approval has been made with the High Performance Commission.10. I will endeavour to make myself available to participate in events as outlined in my HPP Plan, and, if possible, to participate in a selection of International Championships, HPC Designated Events, International Events, and some of the international training and/or HPC Designated tours.11. Pay the annual National Squad Participation Fee of either $1,560 (excluding GST) [the Fee] for National Squad Member (Adult), which includes the Senior, Junior, Cadet categories or $600 (excluding GST) for National Squad Member (Youth), either in total within 21 days of my selection confirmation, or in twelve (12) equal monthly instalments to the AFF being $130 (excluding GST) per month, as follows: 8.1 An 8% discount may be applied to the fee if I choose to pay in full within [X] days of selection; and8.2 Amongst other things, the AFF may apply the Fee against coach-travel to national and international competitions, camp fees (but not accommodation) and tour costs. 12 If I am a National Squad Member (Youth), I may move from the Youth category to the (Adult) Senior, Junior, Cadet category if this is accepted by the HPC, and then pay the balance of the Fee, being $960 (excluding) GST to the AFF. To be available for selection for an FIE International Event I must move to the Senior, Junior, Cadet category 10 days prior to selections being made for any particular event.13. Pay all personal expenses (including travel and accommodation) involved in participating in the events that are in my High Performance Program Plan.14. If appropriate, nominate a Personal Coach for individual training sessions who is either a member of the National Coaching Team, or a member of a State Fencing Association (or if not Australian based, a recognised coach by their National Federation) and who is accredited by the AFF, (unless they are a non-resident coach) or elect to have individual training sessions with the National Weapon Coach (if possible) or National Assistant Coach (if possible), and permit that coach to receive information about me as collected by the AFF.15. Initiate and maintain ongoing communication and engagement with the National Technical Director, National Weapons Coach, and any coaches that are involved in your High Performance Program.16. Respect the facilities and equipment of the AFF.17. Abide by the Tour Rules, or any guidance given by the HPC to National Squad Members on any HPC Designated Tour, and avoid individual or collective behaviour which may reasonably be held by spectators or other fencers, officials or the AFF to be inappropriate for an elite athlete who is a member of the National Squad. 18. Abide by the AFF Code of Conduct for Athletes and be bound by and comply with the terms of all AFF Policies. 19. Supply a suitable photograph to the AFF for the purposes of promoting the HPP. 20. Apply for and receive FIE licences that are valid for the term of this Agreement.21. Pay all invoices issued to me by the AFF within their credit terms.22. Supply accurate and current contact details, or (if I am a minor) accurate and current contact details of my legal guardian.23. Promptly attend to all AFF and HPC administrative processes and requests from AFF and HPC staff.24. Acknowledge that it may be necessary for the AFF to vary this Agreement, from time to time.25. Be bound by any variations to this Agreement.26. Attend squads training in my state if it is a requirement of my High Performance Program Plan.27. Pay all relevant fees and costs associated with state squads training to my State Fencing Association in addition to paying the Fee to the AFF.Consent to the AFF and its Member States sharing information about me including my personal information and my attendance at squads Acknowledgements * I acknowledge the above AFF commitments What fencers on the High Performance Program can expect from the AFF The AFF, through the HPC, will provide me with the following: 1. Support and guidance from the High Performance Commission (inclusive of National Technical Director), who will be your point of contact for most aspects of the HPP on behalf of the AFF. 2. Access to the High Performance Program as outlined in the Attachment (High Performance Program Outline), as supported by the High Performance Program Plan, and as varied from time to time, including access to the National Coaching Team. 3. Access to the HPP Competition Program with the opportunity to represent Australia at the highest level as determined by the AFF Selection Policy and as required by this Agreement. 4. Reasonable non-monetary support, where requested, for pursuing personal and sporting scholarships. 5. An opportunity to apply for any HPP sponsorships relevant to my status as a member of the National Squad. Acknowledgement * I acknowledge the above Breach Consequences for breaching Athlete Agreement If I withdraw from the National Squad without the AFF’s approval or if this Agreement is terminated for non-performance, or for disciplinary reasons, I acknowledge that: 1. the AFF may determine that I am ineligible to re-join the National Squad, or to be entered into an event as an Australian representative, for a period of 12 months from the time I withdrew or terminated from the National Squad. 2. I will remain liable for all payments and fees that may arise under this Agreement including any outstanding amounts of the Fee. changed in due course If I withdraw from the National Squad with approval or have a temporary absence approved, I acknowledge that: I will remain liable for payments and fees that may arise under this Agreement unless the AFF varies any fees owing in its sole and absolute discretion. Acknowldedgement * I acknowledge the above Definitions AFF Code of Conduct for Athletes means the code of conduct set out in Attachment B4 of the National Member Protection Policy issued and published by the AFF on its website from time to time. AFF Policies means all of the policies and operational protocols of the AFF that are published on the AFF website including the AFF Member Protection Policy, Anti-Doping Policy, Communications (Athletes) Policy, Publicity Policy (and the FIE Publicity Code), AFF Selection Policy, Sponsorship Policy, Social Media Policy and Disciplinary Policy, and any other Policy introduced by the AFF on published on the AFF website. AFF Selection Policy means the policy issued and published by the AFF which policy explains how selections for the National Squad and qualification for international events are made. Agreement means this agreement including any annexures, addendums, schedules or variations to this agreement. High Performance Commission or HPC means the AFF’s High Performance Commission. High Performance Program means the activities included in the National High Performance Program Outline, the HPC International Competition Calendar events, any plans and approaches agreed with you, such as the High Performance Program Plan in the Initial Planning Sessions, and any changes to these activities adjusted over time as delivered by the HPC and the National Coaching Team during the course of the National Squad cycle. High Performance Program Plan means the plan agreed by you in the Initial Planning Sessions with the National Technical Director and HPC, and anyone else invited to attend these sessions, and designed to support your fencing. HPC Integrated Competition Schedule means the competition scheduled published by the HPC. International Events carry the broadest possible definition and are those events that require the AFF to field, process or enter an athlete’s or team’s entry or involves the endorsement of the AFF or otherwise confirmation of the AFF to any entry for any event. means individual and team events as set out for my High-Performance Annual Program. National Assistant Coach means any person appointed to the position of National Assistant Coach by the AFF and may hold that role from time to time. National Coaching Team means all coaches included under the High Performance Program, inclusive of, but not limited to, the National Technical Director, the National Weapon Coach, National Assistant Coaches, and any other National Program Coaches. National Program Coach means a coach, appointed by the AFF, to deliver a specific part of the HPP. National Squad Member means a member of the National Squad, either in the senior, junior, or cadet categories, expressed as National Squad Member (Adult) which includes Senior, Junior, Cadet categories and available for selection in FIE International Events or a Youth category member expressed as National Squad Member (Youth), who is not available for selection in FIE International Events. National Technical Director means the person appointed by the AFF to oversee and manage all technical aspects associated with a particular weapon National Weapon Coach means the national coach in charge of my weapon as appointed by the AFF from time to time. National Training Program means the fencing training program designed by the National Technical Director and delivered as part of the HPP. Personal Coach means the accredited coach nominated by me under clause 10. State Fencing Association means the body responsible for the management and development of the sport of fencing in my State.
