AFF Appoints Tais Rochel as Interim National Foil Coach

The Australian Fencing Federation is excited to announce the appointment of former National Assistant Coach, Tais Rochel, as the Interim National Foil Coach for the 2025/2026 season.

The position, which Tais has settled into over the past few weeks, will ensure that the foil program will be well supported as we collaborate with athletes, individual coaches, parents and other members of the foil community.

As well as working with individual athletes in the High Performance Program, Tais will support the planning for the overall program to help with execution on tour planning and international competitions, training programs at the National Training Centre in Victoria, and other key areas within the program.

Tais will be assisting the foil program in a part time capacity while we continue the search for the right National Foil coach through advertising the position across the Asia Zone and in the US.

Speaking about her appointment to the role, Tais said that she was excited to be working with such a passionate and dedicated community.

“I am very excited to be on board to take on the Interim National Head Coach position for Foil in Australia,” she said.

“Since I arrived in Australia, I’ve seen how much potential we have.

“By working together and making the right adjustments, we can achieve great results, both individually and as a team.”
