AFF appoints independent Board member and FRAC Chair
The AFF is thrilled to announce the appointment of John Palmer as an independent Board member, and Roddy Liu and our independent Finance, Risk, and Audit Committee Chair.
John has an incredible background in sports events and production experience from the Los Angeles Marathon to the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and recently been the National Games Director for Special Olympics Australia.
John has said about his appointment “I am honoured to join the Australian Fencing Federation board and contribute to the growth of this dynamic sport. With LA28 and the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games on the horizon, this is an exciting time for Australian fencing. I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members and the broader fencing community to advance the sport's strategic objectives and ensure fencing thrives at every level.”
Roddy has extensive experience in finance, risk and audit management and is a current FRAC member for Diving WA and Curling Australia. Roddy is a lead auditor and managing director for RL SMSF Audits with qualifications in sport governance. We are excited to appoint our first indepdent FRAC Chair and are looking forward to the professionalism and leadership Roddy can bring to our Finance, Risk and Audit Committee.
