Adoption of Updated FIE P-Card Rules
September 7, 2026
Commencing from the 2026/27 DH McKenzie (AFC#1), the Australian Fencing Federation will adopt the updated FIE P-Card regulations that come into effect for the 2026/27 season.
Under the revised rules:
- The P-Yellow Card has been removed.
- Following one minute of fencing without a touch being scored, both fencers will receive a P-Red Card.
- If a further one-minute period passes without a touch, a P-Black Card will be applied.
The AFF will continue to apply its current P-Black Card convention:
- If one fencer is leading, the trailing fencer will be eliminated.
-
If the scores are tied, the lower-ranked fencer according to the seeding of the event will be eliminated.
Competitors are encouraged to familiarise themselves with these changes prior to entering tournaments.
