First Aid Credential
What is the First Aid Credential?
The First Aid Credential allows coaches to provide evidence that they hold a current recognised first aid qualification.
To meet AFF coaching requirements, coaches must hold a valid first aid certification from one of the approved nationally recognised courses:
- HLTAID010 – Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
- HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
- HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
- HLTAID013 – Provide First Aid in Remote or Isolated Site
- HLTAID014 – Provide Advanced First Aid
- HLTAID015 – Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy
Why is this Credential Required?
First aid qualifications help ensure that coaches have the knowledge and skills to respond appropriately in the event of an injury or medical emergency.
Maintaining a current first aid qualification supports a safer environment for athletes, officials, volunteers, and all participants at fencing activities and events.
How Long is the Credential Valid?
First aid qualifications must be renewed every three years to remain current.
If your first aid qualification expires, any coaching credentials or accreditations that depend on a current First Aid Credential may become inactive until a renewed certificate has been provided and verified.
