Athletes not less than 13 years nor more than 20 years of age as at 1 January 2009.

Format

Individual and team events conducted by direct elimination with a mixed system consisting of one round of pools, followed by a direct elimination table to qualify 4 fencers for a direct elimination final.

The competition conducted in accordance with FIE rules. Uniform and Equipment Regulations apply.
