Friday 12th April

Veteran fencers are welcome to join the Victorian Foil Squad sessions at the Victoria Fencing Centre. This is held from 6-8pm and include exercises and competitive fencing.  Sabre training can also be arranged – please advise ([email protected]) should this be of interest.

Equipment Control (focussing on the following day’s events) will be available from 6-7pm.

Saturday 13th April

8.30 -9.30am – Epee weapons check
9.30am roll call – Veteran Epee competition
9.45am start of Epee competition
2pm – Physiotherapy
3.30 pm – Podiatry
7pm – Informal Dinner and drinks. Venue will be announced prior to the week-end depending on the number of persons interested.

Sunday 14th April

8.30-9.30am Equipment Control
9.30 am roll call Veteran Sabre competition
9.45am start of Sabre Competition
12 noon –BBQ Lunch
1.15pm roll call Veteran Foil competition
1.30pm – start of Foil Competition
4 pm – presentations on technical issues, rules and refereeing by Lucas Webber (Head Referee).

Monday – 15th April

10 am – Team Events– (Format will be number dependant – mixed) + Individual coaching lessons.

Throughout the week-end, several coaches will be available to hold small group sessions or give individual lessons, please advise if you are interested to ensure coach availability.

Cost:

$80 per person per weapon. This includes attendance at all sessions, the competitions (including the team events) and the BBQ lunch. The meal on Saturday evening will be pay-your-own.

If you require the results in this competition to count toward your Asian Veteran rankings you will need to have a valid FCA license:

  • 2018/19 FCA licence will be required for Asian Veterans Fencing Championships 2019 (16-19 August 2019).

There will be separate competitions for men and women providing that there are more than 4 competitors for each gender. If there are less than four competitors in either gender the pools will be combined but there will be a gender split for the Direct Elimination (DE) component.

As per Australian Veteran Competitions and Commonwealth Veteran Competitions there will not be separate age-based competitions.

Medals will be awarded for the first three places (including two bronze medals) of the overall competition (separate medals for each gender) and a gold medal will be awarded for the winner of each age/gendercategory.

Age Categories are as for FCA Veterans Categories for women:

35-49 years (birthdays in 2019)
50-59 years
60-69 years
70 + years.

40-49 years (birthdays in 2019)
50-59 years
60-69 years
70 + years.
