The AFF is currently operating in accordance with its overarching Strategic Plan for the four year period from 2017 to 2020.

The Strategic Plan was provided to the member States in draft form for discussion at a President's Forum in October 2016, following which feedback was provided by the States in November 2016. The Plan was adopted by the member States at a Special General Meeting in December 2016 and was launched to members at forums held in conjuction with the National Fencing Championships.

The Strategic Plan identifies five key strategic imperatives, which are directed towards ensuring the long-term and sustainable growth of fencing in Australiain all areas of activity. Each of these strategic imperatives is supported by a range of initiatives, which the Board will work collaboratively with the States and the broader fencing community over the next four years.

The AFF encourages all members of the fencing community to review the Strategic Plan and identify any areas where they fell they have the necessary skills and enthusiasm to contribute. The Board is particularly keen to identify individuals or small groups who would like to take on specific, short-term projects in line with the broader objectives of the Strategic Plan. There are plenty of opportunities available which require little or no fencing knowledge.

Anyone who is interested in contributing in this way is encouraged to contact the AFF President (Evelyn Halls) by email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
